Welcome to Sound Gynecologic Oncology! Our practice is a woman-owned, solo private practice of Gynecologic Oncology in Eastern Long Island. Fueled by the words: “Hannah, you’ll never make it out there” Dr. Ortiz embarked upon a journey to bring state-of-the art cancer surgery and treatment to the women of Eastern Long Island. She worked with local hospitals, bringing new equipment, science, and technology to local operating rooms. She taught administrators, nurses, and operating room staff the nuances and detail of quality surgical cancer care. She set a high bar, refused to be intimidated and took on the hard work of treating cancer patients where they live. In 2023, new data questioned treating patients at distant academic centers. It proposed that doctors be trained to treat people in their own communities. This was the focus of our practice since its inception. Since 2007, we have delivered uncompromising, individualized, surgical cancer care with scientific rigor, attention to detail, focused on quality, ethics, and compassion.
